Ellie Goulding ha lanciato quest’oggi sul web il videoclip del nuovo singolo Army. Si tratta del secondo estratto ufficiale da Delirium, il terzo se si conta la super hit Love Me Like You Do uscita a gennaio 2015 e che ha anticipato di molti mesi la release del disco.

Army, a differenza del singolo apripista On My Mind, è una ballad che musicalmente richiama in misura maggiore lo stile della Ellie del passato, benché in chiave decisamente più pop. Il brano è stato scritto con Max Martin, Savan Kotecha e Ali Payami ed è fortemente autobiografico. Si tratta infatti di una dedica a cuore aperto alla migliore amica di Ellie Goulding, tale Hannah che le è sempre stata vicina, nei momenti di gioia ma anche in quelli più difficili.

Il videoclip ufficiale si apre proprio con una frase scritta dalla cantautrice britannica che recita: “For my best friend Hannah, and my incredible fans”. Facile allora immaginare come questo brano possa rappresentare uno dei momenti più emozionanti dell’imminente Delirium World Tour, in partenza il 21 gennaio da Ambrugo (Germania) e di passaggio anche dall’Italia il 1° febbraio al Mediolanum Forum di Assago.

In scaletta molti brani estratti dal nuovo album Delirium, pubblicato lo scorso 6 novembre dalla Polydor Records, e i maggiori successi del passato, come Outside, Burn e Lights.
