Dal Canada è arrivata una ‘bestia’ di nome Mia Martina, e il suo fascino potrebbe graffiarvi in profondità. L’ultimo singolo Beast, realizzato in collaborazione con il rapper Waka Flocka, è approdato nelle radio italiane lo scorso 21 agosto ed è già disco d’oro nel suo Paese d’origine.
Beast è il quinto singolo estratto dal secondo album di Mia Martina, intitolato proprio come lei. La traccia è stata scritta dalla stessa cantante con Waka Flocka e Breyan Isaac, produttore del pezzo. Il singolo ha raggiunto la 39° posizione nella classifica Canadian Hot 100 ed è appena stato certificato disco d’oro.
Mia Martina comincia a studiare piano e canto all’età di 4 anni. Fin da piccola vuole diventare una star, ma non è cosa facile nella cittadina canadese di 500 abitanti dove è nata, così i suoi sogni di gloria vengono messi da parte.
Terminate le scuole superiori si sposta ad Ottawa per studiare all’Università e qui si imbatte in un annuncio di stage in un’etichetta discografica. Coglie subito l’opportunità e dopo molti mesi di timidezza riesce a svelare le sue abilità canore al CEO dell’etichetta, Tony Sal, che subito la prende nel roster. Da qui l’ascesa è inarrestabile: il suo primo singolo Stereo Love è già una hit da top ten della Canadian Billboard. Il follow-up Latin Moon diventa disco d’oro in breve tempo, così come Burning.
In pochi anni Mia Martina supera quota 50 milioni di visualizzazioni su YouTube e partecipa a show e live in giro per il mondo con nomi del calibro di Flo Rida, Pitbull e Snoop Dogg .
